“It was regrettable. It was kind of an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the signal was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the incorrect finger,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved pretty quick.”

This incident isn’t the first time an NFL owner has been fined for inappropriate behavior. Previous cases involve:
- Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was penalized $300K for tossing a beverage at spectators in January 2024.
