The Evolution of a Cult can be characterized by clear stages.

1. The Core Concept

An inspiring figure or leaders introduce an innovative concept that promises a panacea for alienated and vulnerable people.

Thus we find ourselves. Plans are in motion to storm the compound overseas. Pressure is mounting. Smoke is rising from the out-houses. An isolated player, exposed, shivering, the slogan POSITIVE INTENT displayed prominently in chicken blood, has come staggering through the lines and is being led away with discretion for a temporary assignment elsewhere.

Do you recall the start, when the world was still young? The initial phase, of Bazball without brains.

2. The Honeymoon Phase

Movement founders guarantee a new start, a brighter tomorrow, love, salvation together united in belief in the method.

How did it feel back then? Just men on a balcony feeling good. Tattoos. Forearms. Determination. Elite male wellness energy. Admittedly, England’s players insist they don’t use the label, ironically because if it doesn’t exist, what did we see?

However, everyone understands what it is. It’s the player attempting a move so depraved it has to be pixelated. It’s the thrill of the leader at his peak, a demeanor suggesting: pensive Nordic god, beard made of wood, natural look, genuinely raw you half-expect to glance over and find him positioned on the ground stripped to the waist embracing nature.

It’s Ben Duckett continuing to have permission speaking publicly, appearing as a cheerful animal formally attired, saying stuff like we’re challenging norms. And yes, the vibe, for a significant period, was uplifting.

3. Expansion Period

Building period. Cohesion maintained through repetition of key phrases. These ideas may seem irrational as a loyalty check.

Am I alone? The criticism, the fury, the disappointment post-defeat feels overblown, overdone. The performance was poor on the field, as history shows. Now there is the criticism, the frustration, the perception of the team as a kind of abomination. What impact will this have?

4. Hate Bonding

Challenges surface due to setbacks. However, faults are ignored. It turns to hostility externally.

The team have been enclosed within this world since childhood. Seeking change, to create a less brutal environment, they are simply replicating their upbringing, building another enclosure, a limited community, however with a modern squad and a mentor promoting authenticity as long as yourself is quite a lot like myself.

Focus on the moment. Embrace challenges. However much you change, you’re always basically in the same place.

With this mind, now is the time to have some sympathy for Bazball, to appreciate its good points, which are significant. How to define it? Creating a sense of freedom. Defying norms. Batting aggressively|Attacking with
